HPBS Mission Statement:
The mission of HPBS is to provide a Christ-centered foundation of biblical truth integrated in strong college-preparatory academics and well-rounded extracurricular programs.
The Hyde Park Baptist School System, established in 1968, started with a single emphasis. The mission was to establish a school with academic excellence, built on a strong foundation of Christian values. While remaining true to its heritage, Hyde Park Baptist Schools has grown to more than 750 students, making it one of the largest private school systems in Austin, Texas. Over 99% of all Hyde Park graduates go on to higher education, and 1,100 students have graduated from Hyde Park Baptist Schools as of May 2004.
The Hyde Park Baptist School System is composed of three campuses. Hyde Park Elementary (Grades Bridging-K through 6) and Hyde Park Junior/Senior High Schools (Grades 7 - 12) are currently located at the Hyde Park Baptist School campus in Central Austin. Bannockburn Baptist Elementary School (Grades K - 6) is located in Southwest Austin. Athletic facilities for the Hyde Park Baptist School System were opened in 2003 at the Quarries site, located in Northwest Austin, which is owned and operated by Hyde Park Baptist Church.
Accreditation & Recognition:
The Hyde Park Baptist School System is accredited and recognized by the following accrediting bodies: Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS); Accrediting Commission of the Texas Association of Baptist Schools (ACTABS), which is part of Texas Private School Accrediting Commission (TEPSAC) set up by the Texas Education Agency for private schools; and Texas Education Agency (TEA).
School accreditation symbolizes to the educational community that high standards of education are being met and will continue to be met. Hyde Park’s graduates are noted by colleges as having attended a school with highly recognized accreditation
