PIGSKIN PREVIEW DINNER
On Friday, May 21st, Hyde Park’s beautiful 50-acre high school campus was filled with Panther Fans! The traditional Red and White Spring Scrimmage Football Game took place at the Quarries field and was a very competitive game for the Panther fans to watch. To culminate the event, a “Pigskin Preview Dinner” was held in Hyde Park’s Leadership Hall featuring Keynote Speaker and new Head Football Coach Dean Campbell. Coach Campbell delivered a motivational speech to the dinner crowd of 180+ Panther fans which focused on the importance of impacting the lives and faith of student athletes. The evening also included introductions of the new 2010-11 Varsity Cheerleaders, Prancers, Varsity Football Team and coaching staff. The inaugural dinner raised just over $13,000 for the football program at Hyde Park. Our sincere thanks to all who made this event possible including our sponsors and Rudy’s BBQ for providing the meals for the football team, cheerleaders and prancers.

Grand Opening of New High School
Forty Years of History and a New Decade Dawning
The strong legacy of Hyde Park Baptist Schools began over 40 years ago with its founding in 1968. With a commitment to serve families with Academic Excellence in a Christ-centered Environment, the school has grown to over 730 students at campuses in Central Austin, Southwest Austin, and, now, a new High School campus in North Austin.
On November 30, 2009, quiet, fresh-painted hallways came alive with activity. A beautiful, serene, two-story library awakened with excited student voices. New lockers clicked to life as combinations opened to a bright new future. The first vocal ensembles took their places on the newly constructed choir risers. Leadership Hall opened its doors to a community of high school students filled with anticipation. The day had finally arrived… the new state-of-the-art Hyde Park Baptist High School Campus located at Mopac and Braker was open!
To commemorate this momentous occasion, Hyde Park hosted a Grand Opening Dedication Celebration on Saturday, November 14th. This special event included nationally-known speakers, a color guard, burial of a time capsule, a ribbon cutting ceremony and dedication prayer, as well as school tours.
Highlights of this new facility include a multiuse Leadership Hall with a 600-seat capacity, a 2-story library with state-of-the-art resources, innovative multimedia technology in each classroom, dedicated and fully-equipped science labs, as well as an exceptional fine arts wing.
Dr. Joe Kopec, Hyde Park Baptist High School Principal, joined the Hyde Park staff in the summer of 2009, and provides his thoughts: "We are excited about moving into our new campus at the Quarries. The facility is beautiful and we are thankful for this wonderful blessing. We are most excited, however, about the increased opportunities it presents to serve our students spiritually and academically." This innovative new High School is located on the beautiful Hyde Park Quarries Property in North Austin. The new Hyde Park Baptist High School has been built to accommodate 450 students which will allow for expanded growth to serve students in the Austin Community.
